Thurein Tun Lin's Story
I am Thurein Tun Lin. I was born in December 31 1982. My Father is Rev.Lian Za Dal (Tun Lin). He was the founder and pastor of Pinlong Baptist Church. My mother is Rev.Emerald Khin Mya Tun. She was a teacher a senior assistant teacher ( SAT ) of No. 3 Basic Education High School, North Dagon Myothit, Yangon City. My father went to be with the Lord in 2008 and now my mother is the senior pastor of Pinlong Baptist Church. I have one elder sister and one younger sister. I am the middle one.
As I was born in a Christian family, I knew Jesus since my childhood. I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and saviour in 1995. Also I was baptized in that year when I was 13 years old.
I participated in God’s ministry when I was young. I really know that God chose me, and He wants me to be His servant. My father Rev.Lian Za Dal and my grand fathers were full time ministers and pastors. So I also dedicated my whole life to be like my fathers, a good servant of the Lord. That also was my parents’ desire and prayers.
I taught Sunday school classes when I was 13 years old. So In 1996 I started to Lead Praise and Worship until now. When I passed my tenth standard examination I was appointed to be a Youth pastor. From that time I started involve with full time ministry. After the day of my father gone to his Heavenly Father, I was also appointed to be the Assistant Pastor of Pinlong Baptist Church.
For this reason I feel that I need theological education to lead the church affectively. I think I need to learn about pastoring. So I decided to study in Pastoral Ministry at Myanmar Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (MEGST). MEGST is the most appropriate college to study Pastoral Ministry because it has excellent professors and library to equip the students.
I strongly believe that MEGST can help many areas of my life and ministries. My vision is to Build a godly society with Spirit filled believers, Christ centred life in Yangon and throughout Myanmar. God bless you
