How does OCA choose students?
Students come from colleges which OCA has endorsed as evangelical,
integrated into the wider church, well run, and strategic.
The college faculty recommends a certain number of students
to OCA each semester.
Students are among the most financially needy of the college
community.
The students recommended come from second year or higher
in their studies. This is so that students have proven their academic
ability and leadership potential to some degree.
Allocations are made from various colleges depending on
availability at the time, maintaining certain levels of students
from each college and preferences expressed by the donor.

Will I hear from my Student?
OCA will send you letters from the student twice per year and you
will receive Prayer Alert monthly. Prayer Alert updates supporters
on each College in rotation. Occasionally an extra report will be
given if a representative from OCA has visited the college.
How long does my commitment last?
The students' courses usually go for three to five years. Scholarships
start in the second , third or fourth year. If you wish to commit
to just one year's payments then we will try to find a final year
student
so you have the pleasure of seeing them graduate.
Can I write to my student?
You may write directly or through OCA. More information is given
about this when you get your Sponsor's Starter Pack.
What happens when my student finishes training?
We believe the responsibility to support the trained minister is
up to the local church so OCA does not support Christian workers.
You will receive a 'graduation certificate' acknowledging your contribution
to your student. OCA will also contact you and ask if you would
like to sponsor another student from the same college or one in
a different country.
